September Soul Fast

When It Finally Makes Sense

The GPS Huddle

September Soul Fast

A 7-Day Soul Fast

Core Scripture: Psalm 73:16–17

Core Scripture

"When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end."

— Psalm 73:16–19

THEN I UNDERSTOOD!!!

The Purpose of This Fast

There are some things you survive long before you understand them.

This seven-day Soul Fast is about what happens between pain and understanding.

It is not about forcing God to explain every detail. It is about becoming clear enough to recognize what an experience revealed, developed, exposed, completed, and now requires from you.

The Goal

Not simply:

"Now I know why."

The goal is:

"Now that I understand, I know what I can no longer carry, tolerate, repeat, maintain, resurrect, or negotiate with."

The Primary Fast

For these seven days, the primary fast is not food.

It is intentionally guarding what enters, occupies, and comes out of your soul through your:

Eye Gate

Ear Gate

Mouth Gate

September's primary altar is the soul.

Guard Your Eye Gate

Limit unnecessary visual consumption that agitates, distracts, compares, tempts, overstimulates, or keeps your mind occupied with what God is trying to help you release.

"What is this putting into my soul?"

Guard Your Ear Gate

Avoid gossip, constant complaining, messy conversations, repeated discussions about old offenses, outrage-driven content, unnecessary opinions, and anything that keeps you emotionally stirred without producing clarity.

"Is what I am listening to producing clarity or adding noise?"

Guard Your Mouth Gate

Fast from gossip, unnecessary complaining, negative self-talk, rehearsing old offenses, overexplaining decisions, unnecessary arguments, impulsive reactions, speaking against yourself, and automatically saying yes before discerning.

"Does this need to be said, does it need to be said by me, and does it need to be said now?"

Optional Physical Fast

Anyone who desires may also fast physically from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Water is preferred, with fruit as needed.

After 6:00 PM, break the fast with one healthy, moderate meal.

Physical fasting is optional for September.

Soul detox is not.

One boundary you will maintain.

One decision you will stop renegotiating.

One area of your life you will restructure.

One truth you will no longer pretend you do not know.

Closing Declaration

I declare that September will not simply give me something to celebrate.

It will give me something to understand.

May my discernment become sharper than my attachment.

May my decisions catch up with my discernment.

May my life agree with who I am becoming.

And may I finally be able to say:

THEN I UNDERSTOOD.
